I changed the number 4 injector and knock sensors. after putting it back together the
car blows a thick white smoke that smells like fuel or rich exhaust. It doesn't smoke
when the engine is cold but as it warms up it becomes thicker and lingers around like
its burning oil. It does not smell like coolant and there is no milky oil. I'm wondering if I
could have made a wrong connection when re assembling the plenum and vacuum
lines. would a disconnected vacuum line cause this or maybe a stuck fuel injector?
Maybe I disconnected something and don't know it. Before I did the work I got fault
codes for the injection system and knock sensors. I ohmed the injectors and number 4
gave me no reading so I replaced that. The car starts and runs better just blows this
thick white smoke that smells like fuel and lingers around like oil. It can still be seen
50 yds away till it fades away in the woods. Please help what did I do wrong? I have
never seen smoke coming from the tail pipe let alone billowing from it before I did the
work.

scan for codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge at fuel rail. auto parts rent them. crecheck your work and see if vacuum line is attached to pressure regulator it may not be.
