check the brakes it may be a rotor distortion on front brakes. then check for to make the lug nuts are tight on the wheel. Also check to see if the tires are out of round.

sir
i checked the break and rotors with axle its all good.
Last night it started stalling when revs coming down at idle it goes till 400 and again at 700 and some times engine stall.
At the time of driving its all good no misfire or jerks.
this problem is usually in neutral or sometimes when stopping.

sir i m really fed up of this issue. not a single mechanic here knows what the problem is. One of them said change the throttle body and another said change the MAF sensor.
I already changed the Timing control solenoid.

your only choice is to scan for codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge. if you are in a foreign country it may not be to easy. clean throttle plate with choke cleaner on both sides and check for a vacuum leak like broken line/cracked etc. because this is a Japanese car it may need an adapter or pro model scanner to check fuel pressure. you may have a small misfire that straightens out after a few miles like a piece of carbon on spark plug so check for that.

Hey ADI KHAN,

I don't mean to but in here but has anyone checked the spark plugs or replaced them the mileage on the car suggests that could be the problem.

Here is a guide to help you

After accelerating past 40 MPH car starts shaking but only when accelerating. I’ll be going 65 MPH and the whole car will be shaking but as soon as I let go of the gas it stops shaking. Nothing is showing up on the engine light about this. What could it be?

Hello,

This could be a motor or trans axle mount. If the motor or transmission mounts become loose or malfunction the the dampering effect that they provide will no longer be there. As the RPM's and the load on the engine/transmission increase then so would the vibrations. When you let off on the accelerator pedal, the load will also go away and that could be why the vibration then smooths out.
I have included factory diagnostic troubleshooting guide for your vehicle's motor mounts in the diagrams down below. Please go through this guide and get back to us with what you find out.

Thanks.

I got my brakes replaced and my rotors smoothed out because they were warped and the car was shaking really bad. Two weeks after i got new brake pads put on it started shaking again. They said that my rotors were warped again. The brake pads i had put on were the ceramic ones so i know it couldnt have been too hard of a brake pad. I put new rotors and new ceramic pads on but i'm afraid it will do it again in a few weeks. They checked my calipers and said they are fine. The only thing they found was that my front axels have some freeplay in them. Can that be causing my pads to warp my rotors? And could that be what is causing the shaking?

Hi jabirkholz,

If the vibration occurs without the brakes being applied, then it is not the rotor that is causing it.

Bad inner CV joint can cause vibrations, especially during light acceleration at the speed mentioned..

Problem 1: You may want to check the front wheel bearings. While you are at it, it would hurt to check your suspension and steering parts: ball joints, tie rod ends, struts, sway bar links and bushings..

Problem 2: It needs to be scanned by a scan tool capable of SRS (Supplemental Restraint System). Generic OBD-II scanner won't do.

My car shakes badly when driving so much that at first I thought it was bad tires, got new ones, still shakes, then they said it was struts, got new ones, but it still rides rough and shakes even while sitting still at the light. What can this be?

Hi kpmax2001,

If it is not the mountings, then you need to check for misfiring from the engine.

Is the check engine light showing?

What is the idling speed? Most probably the engine mounts are bad if idling is good and engine is not misfiring.

Often when I turn the car on it starts to shake, some times just a little bit but some times its very strong. Usually, as soon as I start accelerating the shaking stops but recently when I accelerate, the engine does not seem to respond correctly and you can feel a lack of power, some times the acceleration pad itself feels like its shaking! When I bought the car, it took 1500rpms to change to 1st-2nd gear which I think is the normal rate but NOW it takes around 3000rpms to change to 1st gear! The car was serviced just before we bought it.......

Sounds like a misfire is happening. First two things I would want to check is to make sure the fuel pressure is in spec, there is good spark to the cylinders.

HAs the Check engine light been on? does it come on when you first start the car and go off? Were codes checked in the computer?

is that 15,000 or 150,000 miles?

Hello, thanks a lot for your help. I wasn't sure how to respond to your post since I am new to this forum so I decided to send a private message.

Anyways, you asked a few questions about the car and here is what I know.

The car has 96,312miles and when I turn it on as is normal the warnings lights (including the check engine light) come on but go away after seconds.

Since I bought it I haven't seen any warning lights come on while I am driving even when the shaking is really bad. You asked if I checked the computer codes but to be honest I don't know what that is. Also, what exactly is a misfire?
[/quote:3a08648dd7]

A misfire is when one or more of the components are missing to make combustion. That is spark, fuel or compression in the most basic terms.

The computer, (Powertrain Control Module) will store faults. IF the fault is bad enough it will set a code. A scanner is needed ito check them.
https://www.2carpros.com/dia/how_to_scan_trouble_codes.htm

Autozone can check them for free, but they can not diagnose them. IF you have them checked , we may have a little more to work with. You can buy a code reader also.

I'm not sure if there are two problem happening on this or not.

The shaking at idle while in park gives the impression of a misfire. With that stopping when you put it in gear and driving is odd, then the shifting so high begins to sound like transmission related.

The codes may help greatly on this.

Sorry I didn't explain the problem properly. The car always stops shaking as soon as I put it in P. As soon as I put it in Drive it starts to shake but that's only when I am stopped, as soon as I move the car the shaking stops except for a few times when the shaking continues.

Once, I turned the car on and the shaking was really bad so I started changing gears (while stopped) for about 5 minutes then surprisingly the shaking stopped completely. Remember, the shaking occurs some times not always.

Okay, Sounds like the torque converter may be trying to engage is one possiblility. When was the fluid last changed? Unless it was done just recently, I would pick up 10 quarts of Dextron III, drain the transmision and refill it. IT may not take all 10, but you don't want to be stuck with out enough. the capacity calls for 10 quarts.

I would also check the boot on the intake to make sure there are no cracks when the car is put into drive. The movement of the engine may be forcing something away or onto something else causing a performance issue.

I have had several comments that my car shakes. but i don't notice it that much unless i really try to feel it. and when i really hard accelrate i'm arroud 3500,4500 RPMand it shakes little jerky movement, not violet or vigerous. just annoying. same thing when im under 1000 RPM just tryig to get the best gas millage. just like cursing on a road but i wat to do 5th gear because fourth makes the RPMs like 2000-2500. i assume its because the engine is going to slow? but im not sure about the other problems

Have you had tire balance checked? Any bent rims? Also, a vibration can come from an engine miss. Has the check engine light ever come on? When was the last tune up?

Let me know.

if it while braking, yes, it could be the rotors.

otherwise, check the torque on the axle shaft nuts. they should be around 200 lbs.

check the wheel balance as well.

I bought a 95 Nissan Maxima a few days ago and it shakes right when your turn the car on and while driving. The owner told me it only needed a tune-up and it will fix but it actually made it worst. What is the problem?

Make sure the plug wires are on the correct plugs, check for shorts in plug wires... If check engine light is on, have the computer scanned. Check fuel pressure and compression.

get the tires balanced and the alignment checked that could cuase the vibration at high speeds like that.

if thats not it the suspension components could be wearing past their serviceable limits.
