Car overheats only when I turn on the A/C or driving on the interstate.

Hi,

The idea that it overheats at highway speed is odd. Is the engine coolant full in both the overflow reservoir and radiator? Have you tried replacing the thermostat? Also, when you turn the A/C on, the cooling fan should turn on. Is that happening?

Let me know as much as you can. Also, take a look through this link. You may find it helpful.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Sorry for the delay. I pulled the radiator cap. It's definitely low if not empty. Going to check that out next week when I return from my trip. I'll let you know if that's it. Thank you.

Hi,

I had a feeling that was the issue. Once you fill it, the overheating will likely stop. However, we will need to check if there is a leak.

Let me know if there is evidence of a leak, anything that appears to be mixing with the engine oil, or if there is excessive white smoke coming from the exhaust.

Take care of yourself,

Joe
