Car jerks while trying to pass a car or take off hard from a stop?

Hello, have you had the CAN system scanned recently? It can be done at any auto parts store for free, or a scan tool can be bought from Amazon for around $20.

The only codes were PO420 and PO102.

Hi, P0102 indicates low airflow through the MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor), let's start with the basics and check the engine air filter. This should be a large black box with a snorkel on it, and if it is very dirty it could cause some issues with acceleration. We should also look / listen for vacuum leaks or any kind of air leak in the intake system. This can usually be heard while the engine is running and typically sounds like air blowing or sucking into the tube. Next will be the MAF itself, see if it is damaged, or even dirty. The element could need a cleaning (only use MAF cleaner!).
