Car is bubbling/gurgling after it has been turned off.

We have a 2004 Dodge Neon STE. We have spent far too much money in the last month,(1,500+) trying to get it fixed. We have had hoeses changed, heating core changed, oil changed, transmission flushed, transmission filter changed, routers changed, and the transmission cooler in the radiator changed. But after the car has been driven for 30+ mins and then is turned off, it is still making a bubbling/gurgling noise... I can't afford to just keep taking stabs in the dark. Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong? Please?

check to see if it is overheating, it may be or it has air in the cooling system.you might have the coolant system pressure checked to see if it has a bad head gasket. also check rad cap at same time to see if that is bad. always when filling coolant system fill at reservoir not cap

It's not over heating. But I'll have the coolant system pressure checked, I hadn't thought about the head gasket. If the new heating core that was put in was a little bigger than the old one, could that cause the gurgling? That is what the mechanic said, but it sorta came across as B.S. Thanx again. ^_^

Sorry, my husband just told me that there is now and Acidic/chalky smell when he runs the heater, almost electric but not quiet. The check engine light came on and we had it checked they said that it was just a mis-fire... So we used some fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank. I'm really not sure what to do anymore....

misfires are hard to detect have the compression checked as itmay be a head gasket. chalky smell cold be from plugged drain for a/c try spraying febreze in vent in fornt of windshield and ducts in dash

I forgot on last reply if you can get under car see if the drain is plugged, run a coat hanger up it to see if itwill get any water out. it's easy to spot.
