Car idles rough, sluggish and not enough power from gas pedal, and stall?

No check engine light on. I changed my catalytic converter and my 02 sensor after these problems popped up thinking that was the problem since my converter was super hot. Check engine came on today before they were changed and went away after. The same problems are still happening. It feels just as super sluggish, idles low, low power from pedal being pushed down and sounds like a small backfire/stall. Engine and trans sounds and feels good, no knock and still no lights on the dash. Where do i go from here?

Hi,

Since we don't have a check engine light, we will be running a bit blind. Based on your description, the first thing I would recommend is to check fuel pressure. If it is weak, you will experience a power loss, and a lean fuel mixture can cause a backfire.

I attached the manufacturer's directions specific to this vehicle below. The pressure specifications are included in the directions.

You will need a fuel pressure gauge. If you don't have one, often, a parts store will lend one to you.
