The problem that i have with the car. At start up it rev up to 4000+ rpm's. I change TPS and the IACV and still does the same thing. Prior to TPS and IACV, head gaskets were done. Any good advice on here would sure be appreciated.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

Does the idle return to normal? If it doesn't, have you checked the throttle cable and linkage for something causing it to stick?

Take a look through this link to see if anything is helpful.

Let me know.

Welcome back:

Do me a favor. Disconnect the throttle body cable from the throttle body and see if that changes things.

Let me know, and you are very welcome.

Hey Joe so here is what is going on: The piston rod snap and broke from the last start. I pick up another motor from a junk yard. No timing belt on. So I tried aligning the crank and both cams. So I did and it starts and then shuts off. Any idea? Sound like it's choking.

Welcome back:

It could be anything. Have you checked for engine vacuum leaks? Have you checked for trouble codes?

Let me know.
