What you described is commonly caused by a plugged pickup screen inside the fuel tank. This applies to any car with the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail on the engine, and a return line to the tank. The typical symptom is the engine runs fine at highway speeds, but stalling occurs when the largest volume of fuel is being pumped, . . . which is during coasting.
