A/C not working

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

I need to know if the AC compressor is engaging when you turn the system on. If it is not, suspect too low or high pressure in the system. Also, if you have gauges, could you let me know what both the high side and low side pressures are.

If you find that the compressor does engage when the system is turned on, suspect a faulty blend air door which determines the air temperature that enters the vehicle. Here is a link which describes the component as well as a general description of how to replace it:

I do not have gauges but my electrician have examined it when I was trying to fix the AC and he told me reading are what they should be and compressor is engaging, but I do not know if it does as it should be.
One more thing. Do you think engine overheating effects the AC because the heat gauges
is always about 100?

As far as the air conditioning, if the compressor is engaging and the pressures are correct, it is working. The next thing that can cause the problem is what i mentioned in my last post, the blend air door. This door opens and closes based on if you want heat or AC.

Now, if the engine is overheating, the system will shut down. However, you said the gauge is at 100. If that is 100 degrees F, the engine is not even warming up properly, but again that would not cause the AC issue. Most thermostats on a car will fully open at 195°F. That is the close to where an engine should operate.

I wish I had specific information on your vehicle. This model is not available in the USA. However, I would really like to know what the pressure readings were. That can tell me a lot.

I will try to send the pressure readings when I have time. The engine heat gauges is 100 c not F and my car model is Opel Vita GLS 16 v the engine was 1400 cc I replaced it to 1600 cc.
The car was made in Germany for Japan it is the same as Corsa b but it came with much more options.
