I was leaving for work today and drove about half a mile then I turned around to get something I forgot at home, so I came home and left van running in park. Got what I needed shifted into reverse and nothing can't shift into anything. Starts okay and runs well. I'm perplexed. Transmission hasn't acted up at all until now. I can shift into gears, but nothing happens when I do. Fluid seems high enough.

Here is a short video I made:

I was able to move the van at 12:30 about 60 ft. In drive but I had to floor it to get up the small hill to my drive, but after I can only get it into park. Anything else doesn't engage like it did when I moved it.

Thanks for the video, it helps. The first thing we need to do is run the codes, this guide can help. Also did the transmission make any noise at all when this happened. I have seen the input shaft break, or the torque converter fail. Also, I have seen the pressure regulating solenoid go out, but it should have a code for that.

thank you. I did hear a clanking noise, earlier and later when I moved it last. Both times when I put it in gear just at first when it engaged. Would that indicate an input shaft or torque converter? If I get it to engage it barely moves. Also no check engine or service warning light

Okay, you may have a broken axle. I would put the van in drive and have a helper look under the van to see if the drive shaft is turning (look from from the side of the van). Please let me know.

It sounds like a hard failure inside the transmission. Let me know what they find please.
