You should have noticed a brake has been dragging. Also, if you check by the affected wheel, you should find it's really hot. First consider if it's possible the brake fluid has been contaminated with a petroleum product like engine oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, penetrating oil, or axle grease. Even one drop of any of those will be catastrophic.
If contaminated brake fluid is not a good suspect, the next time a brake locks up, stop on a slight incline, shift to neutral, place a block about a foot downhill from one tire so you won't look funny chasing after the car, then loosen a steel line at the master cylinder. Most likely that will not cause the locked brake to release. Next, crawl underneath the car and open the bleeder screw on the caliper. If that lets the brake release, suspect the rubber flex hose.
