Can the brakes lines be reversed on the connection to the master cylinder

In other words if I was to accidentally put the one the originally came off the left side of master cylinder and put it on the right side and done the same thing to the other brake line going to the master cylinder will this stop it from working correctly?

Hi,

Yes, it will cause a problem. You should still have brakes. Can you tell me what is happening? Also, take a look at the attached pic and let me know if those are the two you are referring to. They should be steel lines and should align with the correct side.

those are the ones, I still have a leak towards the back of vehicle, I must fix it first before I can tell.
I had to cut both lines near the cylinder then I was confused on where they went but they're on the master cylinder.
After the leak is fixed I will know more.

Hi,

Let me know when you get the leak repaired and how things turn out for you. Keep in mind, the lines are specific to the front and rear brakes and pressure is metered differently. If when you hit the brakes hard the rear locks up, chances are they are switched.
