Can i buy a rear view camera fin and just install it with connections that exist in the car

I have the car listed above with no rear view camera. i was wanting to know if i could buy a chrome fin with a camera installed factory from car packages that bought the rear view camera feature on this model and could just connect it to existing connection that happens to be in my car that does not have rear view camera.I would really appreciate if some had some knowledge on this topic.Thanks have a blessed day/night.

Hi,

It is very unlikely that this would work because these vehicles have what are called sales codes so that the computers know how the vehicle is equipped. Even if the plug is there and you plug the camera in, the modules that control this system would not know to send the signal to it because it wasn't told it has the system.

You best bet is to call a dealer and ask them to run the VIN and see what it would take to add this system to your specific vehicle. I imagine that you may need a new control module or at least have the code added and it may operate.
