Vehicle would not start, rpm's intermittent revved up while driving . All kinds of light on dash came on. Got a P0345 error on my computer. Replaced camshaft position sensor on bank 2. No problems for three weeks. Today it was very warm. On way home from work. Car shut off while sitting at light. Hard start but started. Driving home similar symptoms as before. Not much power, rpm's revved up occasionally. No check engine light. Got home hooked up computer. Pending code was same. P0345 .Original code was erased after sensor replacement. I pulled out camshaft sensor after car cooled. Wiped oil off and reinstalled. Car started right up, wires looked okay, connectors looked okay. What could be the problem? I have an hour drive from work. I do not want my car shutting off while I am on the highway or a lot of back roads with no pull offs.

I have seen where the crankshaft position sensor can intermittently fail causing a correlation issue with the camshaft sensor which will trigger the code. But that code of for a voltage issue which will be sensor related. Can I ask if the sensor is OEM?

The new sensor is OEM part in bank 2. The one I replaced. The bank 1 sensor was not touched and as far as I know is original part. Error was bank 2. Just was worried that the sensors are not working together causing a problem.

Since this is an electrical error lets test the wiring between the sensor and the PCM. Here is a guide and the engine wiring diagrams to help you:

Here are the engine wiring diagrams. Check out the diagrams (below). Please run some tests and get back to us.
