I had a p0014 code and I've replaced the VVT actuator. now I need to replace the sensor because it is over advanced bank 1. I am trying to figure out where it's located in the engine.

Hello,

I have included the Camshaft Position Sensors (CMP)(s) locations as well a system description in the diagrams down below. If you would like, we also have the factory diagnostic troubleshooting flowchart for Direct Trouble Code (DTC) P0014 available. Just let us know if it's something that you are interested in and we can get right over to you. It will require a code reader that is able to control your vehicle's PIDs though. Regardless, get back to us with how things are progressing.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello again,

The information is at the very top of the first diagram that I sent you last time. There is an intake and an exhaust CMP and they are located in the back of the cylinder head, one on each side, in the rear of the cylinder head.

Thanks,
Alex

Okay, sorry. so I'm totally not a car guy I mean I know a little but I have to use pictures to figure stuff out I kind of feel stupid. So this is a picture of my engine. I replaced the VVT solenoid which was under the black plastic cover in the center if the picture the solenoid was on the left side of the block in top.

Hello again,

Hey, no problem at all. I don't know of anyone who came out of the womb knowing it all and twisting wrenches. We all learn and pick it up as we go, so don't feel stupid at all. I was looking for diagrams to copy down but I couldn't find one for your vehicle, just a description. I'm glad you were able to find where they were.

Thanks,
Alex

Well those were the VVT solenoid, but I need to find the camshaft position sensor still. I was seeing if you could possibly kind of point me in the direction I need to look using the picture i had taken then I can get another picture of that area thus narrowing it down picture by picture.

Hello again,

The diagram down below is the description of where the Camshaft Position Sensors (CMP) locations are from the vehicle manufacturer (Chevrolet/General Motors). I am sorry if there is confusion about the components, but I am just passing along the factory information. I have included a more detailed description of the CMp's and the VVT Solenoids in the diagrams down below. I hope that this clears up any confusion, and again, I am sorry for any misunderstanding.

Thanks,
Alex

I'm not sure that is the right information because the VVT solenoid are both located left of center.
