Camshaft/crankshaft alignment code showing

I had taken my vehicle off-roading and had gone through a puddle, water splashed over the hood from too fast of speed but never shut off until about thirty seconds after being out of the water. I replaced the oil and filter and air filter as well being that it was wet :( it ran but had noticed a loss of power. Recently the engine light came on and the vehicle is now randomly stalling and will idle roughly for a few seconds after startup. Is there a chance it is just a cam/crank shaft sensor that needs replacing? What are my next steps?
