Camshaft adjuster housing seal

I've replaced both valve covers and noticed an oil leak on both camshaft adjusters. Do the cams need locked before removing the covers to replace the seals?

Hi,

Is this a C63? I believe by accident you transposed the model above. I just want to confirm I have the right vehicle.

If you are not removing the timing chain, there isn't a need to lock the cams in place.

Let me know if that helps and if I have the correct vehicle.
