cam shafts

Hi, I have the vehicle listed above. at the back of the cam shafts there is a rotary piece of metal with timing mark's on it that. I think is picked up by the sensors in the back of the head. I have managed to move the intake cam rotary piece of metal which I think will cause problems. how do I reset the rotary piece of metal in the correct position?

The timing is set by the mark at the front of the camshaft. This engine is the same as a Chevrolet Aveo. here are the instructions to help align the marks and get you the tightening instructions. You should be able to eyeball the marks without using the tool. BTW. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Hi, thanks for the reply. but sorry not on this engine. the cam wheels are not located on the cams you can put the cam wheels anywhere I am used to a key way so they had to go in the right place but nothing on these cams .

Ken, sorry mate too late already rebuilt. but i can say the ends of the cams were round and smooth and the wheels were round and smooth no slots for key ways seemed very odd to me.
