I am in the process of rebuilding my 351w (with help from your 302 stroker video, thank you!) and would like some advice on cam selection. It will be a stock rebuild, bored .020 over, 4V 600cfm, factory exhaust manifolds. I am looking for a near-stock replacement cam, which provides good idle and vacuum (lots of vacuum stuff on a Cougar). I am considering the Summit 4400 since it is close to factory specs and has an LSA of 112 degrees. I would like your opinion, and if there are other options I should consider. Thanks!

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in response. I have forwarded this link to the individual in the video. Here will get back to you soon.

Take care and if you don't hear from him, let me know.

Hey there!

Thanks so much for watching the series! The Summit 4400 looks like a great choice for your application, especially if you want a decent amount of vacuum and something that is not too rowdy.

Thank you for using 2CarPros!

Best,
Ryan

I have heard a number of complaints recently about the quality of flat tappet cams and lifters that result in early, if not immediate, cam wear. Have you seen this issue, and if so, what is the solution (other than converting to a roller cam)?
