The steering works properly for about 10 -15 minutes after starting the vehicle. After which the steering becomes very difficult and makes a moaning sound. The vehicle has a steering stabilazation system, which means that replacing the rack and pinion could cost up to $1200.00 to replace. could there be another option to fix this problem.

Is the moaning from the pump? You might want to pressure check the pump...
