2001 Cadillac STS lack of power engine dogs down

everytime i try to accelerate my car dogs down and can barely go over 45? what could this be?

Can you go over 45 if you slowly accelerate? Does engine make a loud roar?

yeah i can if i slowly accelerate. i put a new air filter and fuel filter on hoping that was it, it does go faster now but it still has no where near the power it should have. Do you think my cadillac converter could be clogged?

Yes needs a back pressure check done to verefy.
Also check fuel pressure. Results of these two tests should pin point problem.
