I JUST BOUGHT A 1999 STS & I AM THINKING OF GOING WITH A BIGGER RIM MAYBE A 20. I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT IF ANY COULD BE THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS FROM THAT?

Inaccurate speedo, which can cause issues with the PCM, harsh ride due to low profile tires, premature wheel bearing wear due to extra weight/leverage against it.clearance issues.

HOW ABOUT UPGRADING TO AN 18 INCH WHEEL DO YOU THINK THAT WOULD CAUSE ANY ISSUES?

If aluminum, it wont hurt the bearings as bad.You may need to have the PCM programmed for the different tire height to keep the trans shifting at the right time.
