Transfer Case Assembly Replacement
Removal Procedure
Drain the transfer case fluid, if necessary. Refer to Transfer Case Fluid Replacement .
Remove the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement .
Remove the rear propeller shaft. Refer to Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement .



Support the transmission with a suitable screw jack and a block of wood.
Remove the transmission mount-to-body bolts.
Using the jack, lower the transmission enough to access the transmission mount-to-transfer case mounting bolts.



Remove the transmission mount-to-transmission case mounting bolts.
Remove the transmission mount assembly from the vehicle.
Remove the front propeller shaft. Refer to Front Propeller Shaft Replacement .

What is the estimated repair cost?

With the info I have, the case is approx $1600 with approx 4 hrs labor at shop rate. That will put you in the $2000 range.
