I recently brought my 2004 SRX in to have the transfer case replaced and when they call me to tell me how much it would cost they informed me that I had another problem. They said the right front tie rod was so loose it was going to fall off and that I should not even drive the car. They also said that it was an unusual tie rod in that the entire power steering gear had to be replaced and not just the tie rod. Can you show me how?

The inner tie rods are serviced with the rack and pinion but the outer tie rods can be replaced.

Here is a guide that will help with replacing the tie rods:

Below you will find the process from the manual that you will need to complete this repair. Please run through this info and let us know if you have other questions. Thanks
