yesterday my car ran great,today i put the key in an have no power,want crank,no dash lites,the battery shows 13v, I know some car stuff but am puzzeled, any ideas?

Grasp the battery cables at the battery, and see if they are loose. Check that the main engine ground under the hood, from the body to the alternator case is tight, and not broken.
