1994 Cadillac SLS radio antenna

What is the symptom, no power antenna, or no radio stations? You obviously will need to remove radio to check it's connection, removing the liner on the rh side of the trunk will get you the antenna.

The cassette player works so the problem has to be the antenna. I checked the connection at the antenna so now I need to pull the radio

You still haven't gave a symptom we are facing.

The radio plays static. When a cassette is inserted the unit plays fine, The antenna telescopes fine and there does not seem to be a problem with any connection in the back of the car. I think the problem is the cable to radio interface.

If you seek or scan, does it find stations, or keep scrolling. If you check at the back of the radio and find it's connected, you can substitute with an aftermarket antenna from radio shack, or some other parts franchise. The should also be a ground lead from the antenna case to the bracket that the deck lid counterbalance spring attaches to. Check and see that it is connected and tight as well.

My problem is that I can't get to the back of the radio to check that connection. How do I pull the radio to check the antenna connection?

Assuming this is a floor shift vehicle, remove the square trim bezel around the radio face, and remove the console trim plate/ashtray. The console trim is a bit delicate, and expensive if it is even available. there are four clips(or should be) around the outer edges holding it down. At one point you will have to move shifter to clear it. I think there are two 10mm nuts on bottom, and possible one on top, or two on each side. Loosen the nuts, and the radio slides toward you, the holes are slotted, so no need to take the nuts completely off.
