Emergency Brake Release

Brakes problem V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 140000 miles

The emergency brake will not release when put in drive. How do I fix this?

On a 95 there is a vacuum actuator that releases it. check that a vacuum signal is getting there when running and shifted to rev/drive. Replace the vacuum actuator if a signal is present. There is a manual release for it, down on the pedal assembly. There is a switch that will release the parking brake check out the diagrams below.
