EFI system

Have problem w/EFI 5.7 engine.Sometimes when accelterating,engine sputters like fuel is almost shut off.It seems to start best when cold,however it will when hot,at times.I have replaced:ECM/ECU,throttle position switch,spark decoder,high idle valve,spark plugs,S.P. wires,everything in dist.,all sensors on intake,injectors,even has new rebuilt engine.When it runs right,it,s perfect.When it acts up,I think it,s starving for fuel.Also installed both new fuel pumps & blew out gas lines,new fuel filters,cleaned gas tank.Are these years known to have problems w/EFI system?? thanks in advance..Jesse

Hello Jesse,

I have had that same problem with a 1979 Seville. I replaced the coolant temperature sensor and the problem went away. Please inspect/replace and get back to us. Thanks for using 2Carpros.com

Any GM dealer will have it. You will need to search for a GM or Cadillac dealer on the web and have them ship it to you.

I have already tried but without success. You know the part number for this sensor? Is this one like in the picture? Many thanks for your help.
if this does not work, I have to scrap the Seville since I no longer bring the car through inspection.

Yep that is the sensor, I dont know any dealer here that will send abroad. sorry
