why does it take long for heater to heat up in a 1999 cadillac escalade? what part could i need to replace?

ensure coolant level is good in radiator. if its good than there may be a partial clog in the coolant system and it needs flushed OR the heater core is failing.

Don't disregard a stuck open, or improperly regulating thermostat.
