reset computer

V8 front wheel drive automatic 65,000 miles.

Hello 2carpros,

I installed a new compressor. The Cadillac Dealer can not reset computer. My personal mechanic can not reset the computer.

The computer "thinks" it out of charge, service AC, and low on refregerent. light is on.

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. The psi is normal.

The cycling switch is new also.

These cars had a problem with the high pressure switches on the line running along the top of the firewall. I cannot remember which one it is one is for the system and the other is for the computer. regardless, the car will not turn the system back on until the codes have been cleared from its on-board system. Key on, hold down "off" and "warm" at the same time (passenger warm for dual zone) until read out changes, then let go. press fan low speed (down arrow) until "ACM" appears,then fan high (up arrow) until "ACM codes?" appears.Then fan low (down arrow) until "clear ACM codes?" appears, then fan high (up arrow) until "ACM codes clear" appears.
