2000 Cadillac DTS Engine fans

On my car I have electric cooling fans and I have never seen or heard them running. I want to make sure that they work. Is there a way to check them?

Aside from the use of a scan tool to manually command them on, either let it run at idle warm and check between the engine and radiator with a flashlight to see if they are on. You can also turn your a/c on and they should come on with they compressor cycles.
