automatic parking brake release

My 1994 Cadillac Deville Concours with 89,000 miles parking brake auto release stopped working, and we have to reach under the dash & use the manual release. Is the auto release controlled by a sensor on the tranny, a vacuum tube, a fuse or something else?

Most are vacuum. If it is the diaphram is most likley gone.. if you have a vacumm tester see if it hold vacuum.
