My alternator belt (S or Serpentine) started making a strange higher-pitched noise yesteday when cruising at about 65 mph. When I pulled over and popped the hood with it running it sounded like something was rattling. The belt looks fine and is moving fine and no service lights illuminated the dash. I drove it home another 50 miles with this condition. Could it be that the belt needs adjusting?
