Our fuel gauge sometimes reads "Full" all the time as the fuel is being used. I put it 18 gallons of gas into a "full" tank recently. However sometimes it works properly too. My Cadillac dealer believes that the problem is the sensor inside the gas tank and says it will be necessary to remove the gas tank to replace this sensor. I was under the impression that there was an access port so it could be replaced without removing the entire tank. Is it necessary to totally remove the gas tank to replace this sensor?
