2003 Cadillac Deville Cruise control

I can turn on the cruise,but when I push set button it doesn't take. The cruise light on the dashboard light up like it is engaged,but it isn't. I tried pushing the resume button, but it doesn't do anything either.

Check the cable from the box by the air filter housing, to the throttle linkage. There are two cables, one runs into the car to the left of the brake booster, the other one loops around the master cylinder and goes to the cruise module.
