I know I can reset the error codes on my ford by removing the positive battery cable for about 3 minutes then replacing it. is this how it can be done on the Caddy? I know Autozone can do it with the diagnostic device but will the battery interruption do the same? need to remove codes so I can check the charge on the a/c. I have a low freon error code.

96 and newer can't be done without a scanner...disconnecting the batt doesnt do it anymore..BTW with the old Ford, diconnect the negative cable, or you are rolling the dice...All pre 96 Fords only require removing the ECM fuse for 10 seconds!

Thanks for the reply Merlin2021. That answers my question as to why the codes would not reset. I'll have AutoZone reset the codes after I write them down and compare to the off-warmer readout.

Sorry, Buzz has something there...press the HI button after the dignostic completes, and this will reset it...it will display TCS codes clrear for three seconds, then press mode or defog, or turn key off, this will exit the test. The one caveat is your car MUST have this installed for this to work...
