1996 Cadillac Deville Replace motor

Do you have to have a motor reolaced by a cadillac dealer only? I was told yes. But I am putting the same motor (not the blown one) in it. Why?

If you have the correct tools and experience than there is no reason why you would have to take it to the dealer..any mechanic can replace it with the right tools and knowledge.
