1995 Cadillac Deville fuel pump fuse keep blowing

hello i have a 95 cadillac sedan deville just recently put a distributer in it (pulled it from pipes u pull it ) the car started up right up fine but only runs for about two minutes and blows the fuel pump fuse any suggestions

Hi:
Make sure no wires were pinched while you were working on it. If nothing is found, you need to start at the pump and work forward to locate pinched or damaged wiring that would cause a short. However, that fact that it doesn't blow right away makes me think it may be the pump going bad. Was this a problem prior to the repairs?
