My trunk latch has an epoxy faceplate that someone stole recently. I have purchased a replacement swivel latch, but can't get the old one off. Please help! I don't even know who to go to if I were to try to have this replaced professionally.

you need a heat gun to do it

I bought the whole assembly. Wouldn't a heat gun just remove the epoxy plate? The plastic clips are preventing me from removing the entire thing. I am afraid I will disconnect something or break something if I remove the plastic clips. I am confused.

did it come with new plastic clips, if it did just cut or break them off

no. The clips have wire running through them. Not sure what they are connected to-I don't know if they control the self close mech. or lights...?

I believe they are alarm related, does the new peice have a connector on it, did it come with directions, send a pic of the new peice front and back if you can
