When I start up the car I hear a click click click noise witch is something to do with the air. If I turn the air on it comes out of the front vents like normal. If I turn on the heater it comes out the top and bottom and is not very warm. If I turn on the defrost it works fine and is very warm. Today was 17 out and I froze my butt off. Any ideas???

Hi:
Is the engine running at a normal operating temp? If not, replace the thermostat.

Hi:
Without knowing for sure, the only choice is to have the coolant temp tested by a mechanic. However, before you do that, craw under the dash and see if you can identify where the clicking sound is coming from. It may be a stuck vent door that isn't opening or closing causing the heat problem. If that doesn't work or you can't find a problem, have the temp checked. Your mechanic will have a thermometer that can read high temps and it's kust a matter of removing the rad cap, placing the thermomter in the rad and allowing the car to warm up.

Let me know what you find.

Well Joe I took it in to the Cadillac dealership where my father in law works. The Thermastat was busted and the radiator was cracked. So They are fixing both of them now and $419.00 later it should be fixed. Thanks for all the help.
