2006 Cadillac CTS Whinning noise

When accellerating I am hearing a high pitched whine between 30 and 40 mph and then it stops. It is not wind through a window.

possibly a worn serpentine belt and tensioer pulley...

Does it sound like it's coming from the back seat. Has it had a rear diff pinion seal replaced. Possibly low fluid in rear diff, or collateral damage from a previous low fluid condition. There was a recall issued for pinion seals, I'm not sure if 06 applies.
