I recently noticed that my front parking lamps (above the fogs) are not working. They function with the turn signal but not as parking lamp. All other lights on the parking lamp circuit come on - no blown fuses & bulbs are good (replaced to be sure). Am I overlooking something simple here?

Thank you

Check power across the RT PARK and LT PARK fuses in the underhood fuse block. Check then for power at each lamp assembly, purple for left, and brown/white for right. check that the front ambeer side marker bulbs for each side are functional, if they are lit, you do have functioning circuits. Actually, those fuses also power the rear lamps. If you start the car, with the lamps in manual off(not auto), and shift it to drive, do the amber bulbs come on then?

Yes, I did check fuses (10amp) and sockets. No power to front park light sockets except when you use blinker! The side marker amber lights do work. Yesterday I did notice the front park lights working when in gear (D, N or R) but only if the headlights are off!!! So I played with it in the garage...what I found was. Front park lights work in D, N or R as long as the headlights are off (park lights only). They still work in the auto headlight mode but only outside when the headlights are off and in gear. As soon as you pull in the garage and the auto head lights come on the front park light go out. They will also go out as soon as you put it in park

Thank you for your help

That is why I asked. I thought but was not 100% sure, that they are acting as turn signals and DRL only. I have noticed that on the three SRX's that I replaced turn signal bulbs on, in the past week. They function the same way. What acts as park lamps, is the little peanut bulb in the lower inside corner of the headlamp housing. I believe also, that the front turn socket only has two wires going to it, If it had three it would indicate that it serves another function. I don't remember exactly, but I thought it was a dual filament bulb. What you have is normal operation.
