2004 Cadillac CTS Windshield Wipers

When I put the key into the ignition of my CTS, the windshield wipers come on and remain in operation until I remove the key. The wiper speed hand switch does control and change the wiper speed, but the wipers will not shut off. I read a similar question on an earlier post and have tried disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds. It did not work. Suggestions?

I had the exact same problem in my Caddillac CTS 2004, and I had a diagnostic run on it at a Caddillac Certified Dealership. They said my wiper motor was bad, which cost me $500
