2004 Cadillac CTS replace fuel

found fuel filter on top of engine want to replace. Can i replace fuel clips w/ hose clamps? And what is that schader vavle in line of fuel line line a bleed? And is the proper way replace fuel filter? Thanks, Patrick

I don't know what you've found under the hood that you consider the fuel filter, it is under the car just in front of the rh rear tire. The schrader valve is the pressure test port. Tampering with the clips to install clamps would be putting yourself, and your passengers at risk of fire. It is a high pressure system, and I don't consider hose clamps leak proof, or failure safe.
