I am unable to figure out what is wrong with my car. When I am driving and come to a stop light or sign sometimes it will stall out on the final downshift or it will stall out while i am sitting there. I have replaced the fuel filter, checked the vacuum lines and replaced the egr valve and cannot figure it out. I was thinking maybe an IAC valve or perhaps the vacuum line from my air intake to my brake booster. Also my check engine light is on. I am not sure what it is. Please Help and give me a good place to start or a good suggestion.

I believe you have an idle speed control motor, not a valve. This unit has a nose switch incorporated into it that senses when the throttle is closed, so the ecm can start controlling idle. If it senses the throttle in a closed stated when it is not, it will retract fully. It thinks the speed is too high for a closed throttle, and results in a stall when the throttle physically closes. At the throttle cam, where the cable connects, you will see this motor. If you lift the throttle by hand, and press on the isc plunger, you will see it retract. If it stalls and you look and see the plunger retracted, this could most likely be the fault.
