No odor is not. Son was complaining of dust coming out of his vents.

Run in re-circulation mode.

Condition/Concern:
A customer may inquire about the availability of the passenger compartment air filter.

Recommendation/Instructions:
Starting in 2003 model year, the passenger compartment air filter is no longer available as a factory option. With the redesigned HVAC case, there is no longer a cavity for the filter. The GM parts catalog indicates there is a replacement filter available; however, there is no provision for it.

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

I cannot locate the in cabin air filter, if there is one. Where is the in cabin filter located and how do you get to it?

GM stopped using cabin air filters in 2003 and up. I attached a warranty article from GM below.

1.If equipped, remove the IP sound insulator. 2.Remove the filter access door screw. 3.Remove the filter access door (1) from the HVAC module. 4.Remove the passenger compartment air filter (2). INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. 3.Install the filter access door screw. Tighten Tighten the screw to 1.6 Nm (14 lb in) . 4.If equipped, install the IP sound insulator.

can you tell me where the cabin air filter is located

remove the instrument panel sound insulator from under the right side of the instrument panel. then remove teh insulator from the HVAC module and you should then see the filter access door.
