Recently, my car needed a jump start, and I found the battery voltage was low. I replaced the battery and also changed the brake pads at the same time. After that, a C0074 code appeared. I tried clearing it using a TOPDON OBD2 scanner, but it wouldn’t clear.

Does anyone know which scanner can successfully reset this code? I suspect it’s related either to the low voltage issue or the brake pad replacement. The car is old and has some rust on the brake rotors as well.

Any advice would be appreciated!

The C0074 code is stored when the VDC/ABS control module detects an electrical fault or invalid signal from the steering angle sensor, which measures how far and how fast you’re turning the steering wheel. To clear the code you must fix the problem first. So you will need to disconnect the battery and remove the airbag and steering wheel for the replacement. Check out the images (below, emailed as well). Let us know if you need anything else.
