Hello sir,

I own Tata Indigo CS GLS (Petrol) 2008 model and totally driven 31,000 km's and I topped off engine oil to the max level and had a long drive of 1500 km's and again I checked my engine oil. It came to minimum level and also I noticed white smoke with odor emitting from exhaust. what is the problem in my car? Is the engine oil is getting burned?
And there is no proper pick-up in car.

Are you using coolant? as this will cause white smoke and oil burning will show blue smoke, do a compression tests as a precaution and get a head check done, this is a simple chemical tests to see if there is exhaust in the cooling system,if so there will be a head problem to look into.

Sounds as if you have a head or head gasket problem, get the cooling system test done to confirm this.

Because of crack in cylinder head or piston rings will white smoke be emitted.

Coolant being burnt during combustion so a possible blown head gasket warped head or cracked head will be the most probable reason.

Oil consumption will be caused by either worn rings or to a lesser extent valve guides and stem seals, or external leaks. Do a compression test (wet and dry) or a leak down test to determine the condition of the rings, A wet comp test is done with a small amount of oil in the cylinder this will seal the rings during the comp test and if the readings go up considerably from the dry test there will be a ring problem to investigate,
