1997 Buick Skylark dome light stays on

Can you tell me why my dome light stays on continually?
I've had to remove the bulb & bought a new fuse, thinking it might be a fluke or something... but finally had to take out the bulb.
But now I dont have a light in the car.

first make sure your switch isn't on for your dash lights as that turns the dome on. then check your fuses. this could also be a door swith or the courtesy light module tha tis in the convience center near the steering wheel under the dash. It could also be a broken wire from one of the door switches. If you are goign to check that try the drivers door first.
