One major fault in the 1992 Buick roadmaster is the torque convertor. Around 100K miles it will start failing to latch in, but shakes when it tries. The more miles you put on it, the worst it gets. You can not buy a new one anymore. Most of the rebuilt ones at local shops are not much good, they last about 30K miles. I would try a company that rebuilds race convertors and know what they are doing. They can fix a stock type for you. They can test them too. A good one may cost around $400. I have 270K miles on Buick and i have replaced 4 of them. I am trying a pro shop rebuilder the next time.
